4 Tulipa albertii

This variable yellow-and-red tulip has three petals that lean inward and three that arch outward, making it easy to distinguish from other species—if you have the opportunity to see it. Few people find their way to the rugged Ili River region of southeastern Kazakhstan (800m/2,600ft), which this beauty calls home.
